 What is an industrial manipulator arm?

An industrial manipulator arm is a mechanical or pneumatic device designed to assist operators in lifting, moving, orienting, and placing loads along a production line or workstation. Unlike fully automated robotic systems, manipulators work with the operator: they extend human capability rather than replace it. The operator guides the movement; the machine handles the weight.
